GARDNER — A woman walking in the area of Cross and Sherman streets was struck and injured by a black pickup truck, according to police, who said the truck did not stop and fled from the scene. Police are trying to identify the driver.

Police sent out a "be on the lookout" bulletin about 5:30 p.m. Thursday looking for information about the truck involved in the hit-and-run accident.

The vehicle was described as a black Ford F150 truck that may have been pulling a black box trailer with a green and white logo for Mansfield Racing and the image of a dirt bike.

The victim was taken by ambulance to UMass Medical Center in Worcester.

Police said on their Facebook page that anyone with information on the truck should contact the Gardner Police Department at 978-632-5600, ext. 0, to speak to the dispatcher.
