Ceremonies planned throughout region. Parade in Worcester gets underway at 11 a.m.
A pancake breakfast will be served from 8 to 11 a.m. Sunday at Veterans Inc., 69 Grove St, Worcester. The breakfast is being held to thank and honor all veterans. At 11 a.m. the parade begins at Lancaster and Grove streets. The review is at 69 Grove St. The parade will end at the World War I Memorial (Whispering Wall) in Lincoln Square; 2 p.m., wreath-laying ceremonies at Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial in Green Hill Park and Korean War Memorial on Worcester Center Blvd.
Quinsigamond Post 318, American Legion, 180 Greenwood St., Worcester, will hold a Veterans Day celebration. Ceremony begins at noon followed by food, drink and a meat raffle.
Veterans Day Ceremony will start at 11 a.m. Sunday at the WWI Memorial, Beal School, 1 Maple Ave., Shrewsbury. A reception will be held inside the Shrewsbury Public Library on Main Street at the conclusion of the ceremony.
Hiram O. Taylor Post 189 in Sterling invites all veterans to join in observing Veterans Day. The parade starts at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mary Ellen Butterick Building on Park Street and proceeds to the Memorial Park on Cross Street for a program. The Avenue of Flags will be displayed from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
Townsend VFW Post 6538 and its Auxiliary and American Legion Post 199 and its Ladies Auxiliary will honor all who currently serve in the military and all veterans of earlier generations at a Veterans Day ceremony at 11 a.m. Sunday at the VFW Park Monument in West Townsend. Light refreshments will be served in the VFW Function Hall, 491 Main St., West Townsend, after the ceremony.
A series of ceremonies will be held in the morning, with a bus available from VFW Post 9013. The bus leaves at 9:30 a.m. Sunday for Minuteman Park, followed by stops at Pine Grove Cemetery, Forbes Municipal Building and the rotary. Participants will then gather at the VFW.
Harold N. Keith Post 204, American Legion, 159 Hartwell St., West Boylston, will hold a Veterans Day open house from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, with sandwiches and socializing.
